Mr. BashSeventh grade Social Studies covers the Eastern Hemisphere including Oceania, Asia, Africa, Middle East, and Europe. We will begin our studies by reviewing some basics like map reading, geography terms, economic and political terms and concepts, and research skills. Students will need access to the internet. This can happen at school in Room 17 or the Library.Students will be given vocabulary words Monday through Thursday to study as homework and on Friday there will be a test. Those who do not score well on the test have the opportunity to re-take the test the following week to raise their grade. They need to schedule a time to do this. Each student will receive handouts addressing some classroom and course expectations. Besides doing the class work and homework, it is expected that students participate in class discussions. Current event assignments will be a part of both courses. There is a lot that takes place in this class and missing a day can mean missing a lot. After school help on most days is available in Room 17. This is for any subject, not just Social Studies. Students are also welcome to come in just to get their homework completed.
