Mr. PilkingtonAs we end this successful 6th grade year, Mr. Pilkington would like to express special thankfulness to all of you who helped make this year a special one. Good luck to you all as you pursue life and joy in your futures. Thank You, **LATE WORK IS WORTH HALF OF THE REGULAR CREDIT ** WELCOME Course Title & Description: Students will learn about lands and people from Canada to South America in the 6th grade. Geography includes climates, landforms, economies, politics, locations, movement, regions, and how people have changed the land. Please try the links below for detailed information about events and grades. Mr. Pilkington's American History 8th grade students and parents check here please. ASSIGNMENTS: Students have high expectations for academic excellence. As assignments are turned in, all work is graded on a points system. More points = a higher grade. It is important to keep up with all assignments so that none are missing. Assignments need to be turned in on their due dates. Textbook: World Explorer: Western Hemisphere by Jacobs, Randolph, & LeVasseur, Prentice Hall, Needham, Massachusetts, 2001 ISBN 0-13-050235-9 HOMEWORK: Students are working in the Amigos project right now, and their homework is to create an individual project, and a group project. Descriptions and project ideas have been copied and distributed so there are over 100 available ideas. Collages, posters, diaramas, reports and pictures all on the subject area that we are studying are appropriate. **LATE WORK IS WORTH HALF OF THE REGULAR CREDIT **Unless work is because of an excused absence from the parent, students who turn work in late will not receive full credit. When work IS excused late, parents please signature that paper to clearly indicate that this is excused by you. Students may turn in make up work any time until the end of the 9 week grading time. Try these links below to learn details for each grading term. As more assignments are given, they will be added to this page. Thank you for visiting my website. Our phone messaging system is working now, so if you want to leave a message by telephone, please call the school at 303.756.3621 and ask for mailbox 2215. Our e-mail system is working quite well too so please write a note, and send it off on e-mail. I would be happy to respond quickly this way too.
