Mrs. Mary Bernal RodriguezHello parents and students, my name is Mary B. Rodriguez and I teach grades 6, 7, and 8th grade Social Studies classes in English and in Spanish.I have been a teacher with Denver Public Schools for twenty years. I am orginally from Garden City, Kansas, where I was raised on a farm until I moved to Denver, Colorado to attend college. I really enjoy teaching the students here at Merrill because we have so many students from different countries and that is exciting. The 6th grade curriculum consists of the Western hemisphere, the 7th grade curriculum is the Eastern Hemisphere and the 8th grade curriculum is U.S. History 1st Period - ELA Social Studies - 6th graders - level three (which means understanding /reading/writing of the English langugage but not totally proficient for a regular english class. Book: The Western Hemisphere 2nd Period Class- ELA Social Studies - 8th graders -level three. Book: One Nation, Many People 6th Period Class- ELA-Spanish Social Studies -7/8 graders, Book: Explorar El Mundo 7th period Class -ELA 6th graders, level one, Book: The Western Hemisphere 8th Period Class - ELA-Spanish Social Studies-6/7 graders, Book: Explorar El Mundo My planning time is from 9:30 a.m. to 10:20 a.m. For information in spanish, click here Sra.
